At the Learning Assistance Department, we provide instruction and guidance for students both in the classroom and in the Learning Commons. Students learn to self-advocate to ask for the assistance they need to manage their work and learn well.
As part of Student Services, the Learning Assistance Department (LAD) has the unique ability to support our students in their learning, emotional well-being and careers journey.
LAD also assists students with Individual Education Plans (IEP). These plans are determined for each student and are evaluated frequently through student, parent, and teacher meetings. This team approach calls upon the knowledge and expertise of all involved to come up with a plan to support the student’s learning obstacles.
Our goal is to provide advocacy for students until they feel confident to advocate for themselves.
