Teachers assist parents in raising their children by helping students in knowledge and proficiency so that eventually they will be able to work and live as children of God independently, whether they take the academic stream or prepare themselves for a place in the workforce. Through their years at ECHS, students develop their gifts to find their place in this world and God’s kingdom.
At our Reformed Christian school all of education works together for one goal: to live in awe and wonder of the Lord as He requires of us in His Word. This scriptural ‘fear (awe) of the Lord’ (Proverbs 1:7) provides our work with a unified focus. At Emmanuel, we work consciously to create a sense of integration between all subjects of the curriculum, so that students come to see their studies and their lives as harmoniously integrated in service to God and to their neighbours.
The focus of all teaching and learning in Emmanuel is on students first and on subjects second. Every student is unique and has different gifts and talents. Teachers aim to understand each student and how they learn in unique ways. Therefore, the instruction at Emmanuel is having close attention to the understandings, perceptions, and abilities of the individual students.
Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17.
